Plan Your Visit · Downtown Mount Vernon

Parking is easy. Leaving is the hard part.

Atlas sits at 135 S. Main Street, in the heart of downtown — free parking within a couple minutes' walk in every direction, and one of Ohio's best small downtowns right outside our door. Come a little early, stay a little late.

Where to park

All of the parking below is free. A few areas post a time limit — and even the shortest is plenty for any appointment. Every option is a short, flat walk to our door.

Festival weekends: a few times a year, downtown events close streets near the Square — which we love, and which changes where you park. If you have an appointment on an event day, we'll text you ahead of time with the easiest route. When in doubt, use the Mulberry Street lot.

Make a visit of it

We're biased, but this is one of the best downtowns in Ohio — a National Register historic district with real things to do on foot. A few favorites, all minutes from our door:

Our Block

The Woodward Opera House

America's oldest authentic 19th-century theater is our neighbor on S. Main. Catch a show upstairs, or just come for Bickerdyke Table & Tap and Stein Brewing Co. on the first floor.

Five Minutes South

Ariel-Foundation Park

250 acres of lakes, trails, glass-factory ruins, and the climbable Rastin Observation Tower, just south of Main Street — with connections to the Kokosing Gap Trail.

Saturday Mornings

Farmers Market on the Square

May through October, 9 a.m. to noon on Public Square — local produce, baked goods, and the town at its most itself. Pairs well with a morning appointment.

With Kids

The Fountain of Dogs

South Main Plaza's whimsical fountain — a ring of bronze dogs (plus one cat and a pony) with benches and picnic tables. A five-minute delight, steps from our door.

Treats on Main

Half Baked Café for pastry and coffee, Whit's Frozen Custard when the weather's right — both an easy stroll from Atlas, both dangerous to know about.
